Objectives: This study is to survey the literature in Korean medical treatment for neonatal diseases and to suggest the direction for improving Korean medical treatment for neonatal diseases.
Methods: The search database includes Pubmed, CNKI-CAJ (China Academic Journal). In order to narrow the search, the terms were used: ¡®infant, traditional treatment¡¯, ¡®infant, chinese medicine¡¯, ¡®infant, traditional medicine¡¯, ¡®infant, Korean medicine¡¯, ¡®÷ÃüÜ¡¯, ¡®÷ÃÓ¸¡¯, ¡®neonatal jaundice¡¯, ¡®ãæßæ? ùÎÕÒ??¡¯, ¡®neonatal cold injure syndrome¡¯, ¡®neonatal diarrhea¡¯, ¡®ãæßæ? ÜÙ?¡¯, ¡®çéòÀ¡¯, ¡®çéæ㡯, ¡®çéÌ㡯, ¡®cerebral palsy¡¯. The search was limited within the publication date between 2001 and 2014.
Results & Conclusions: The studies research the effects of various treatments by acupoint application and the usage of herb for neonatal diseases. The Korean medical treatment seems to be effective for neonatal diseases, and this study suggests the benefits of the extended Korean medical treatment for neonatal diseases.
